Chelsey / OSC

Hi! My name is Chelsey and I am pleased to be part of the "Kids in the Grove" daycare center. I grew up in Fort Langley and have therefore been part of the Langley community all of my life. I attended Fort Langley Elementary, Walnut Grove Secondary and Langley Fine Arts Schools. Currently, I am attending Kwantlen University College where I am working towards attaining a Bachelor of Arts degree to become an Elementary Teacher.

I love interacting with children and have had the privilege of working with and caring for many children over the past few years. I value these experiences and find them to be very rewarding. In addition to my involvement at the "Kids in the Grove", I am also a tutor for the Aboriginal Program of the Langley School District where I work with children of a variety of ages. Also, I work as a tutor for an ESL program where I help Korean children learn the English language, as well as the Canadian culture.

When I'm not working or studying, I enjoy all sorts of activities. I love shopping, baking, scrapbooking, reading, and watching old, classic movies. I especially enjoy being outside and therefore favour the spring and summer seasons. During these seasons, I find myself doing a lot of camping, hiking, and traveling. When it comes to traveling, one of my favourite things to do is to be a tourist in my own province. British Columbia is beautiful and I love to explore it!

I am pleased to be involved in the "Kids in the Grove" center. I plan to contribute to this facility's warm and caring environment by providing encouragement, supportive learning and loads of fun! I am delighted to not only be a part of this center, but also the community. I am excited about getting to know both the students and their parents as we all work together to maintain a fun and positive environment at "Kids in the Grove".
